Year End Mortgage Tax Information
Members wanting to get a head start on filing their income taxes can obtain their end of the year mortgage tax information by logging into MemberLink Online Banking.
Once you have logged in, click on the words First Trust Mortgage. This will display your mortgage loan details. Look at the information below the heading “Prior Year Tax Information” located on the bottom left side of the page. There you will find the prior year’s amount paid for taxes, interest , as well as the interest paid on your escrow account.
Please note, we also provide a 1098 and 1099 tax form by mail. Please allow until January 31, 2010 for receipt.

Increased Password Protection Security Added to MemberLink Home Banking
As an added layer of security, Justice FCU is increasing its MemberLink Home Banking password protection. Members logging-on to MemberLink Home Banking may be prompted to select a new password in the event their password does not meet the minimum standards.

Did You Know? Retiree and Employer Recovery Act of 2008
On December 23, 2008, the Worker, Retiree and Employer Recovery Act of 2008 was signed into law. This legislation affects individuals who are taking required minimum distributions (RMDs) and beneficiaries of deceased IRA holders.
Under this law, if you are an IRA holder who is age 70 ½ or older in 2009 or are a beneficiary of a deceased IRA holder’s account, you are not required to take a required minimum distribution (RMD) for the 2009 tax year.
If you are receiving automatic distributions from your IRA and would like to discontinue these payments, please contact the Deposit Product Specialist at 800.550.5328 at your earliest convenience.
