– Justice Federal Credit Union is proud to congratulate the recipients of the 2021 Building Futures across the Nation Annual Scholarship Competition who exemplified a commitment to furthering their education― Lark Davidson Cammanday, Caisha Wilkes, Matthew Kwok-Fu Wong, Tyler J. Richards, Marissa Lee Scott, London Amana Jenkins and Alexa Smith.

“Higher education is one of the most valuable investments any individual can make. It requires commitment to education and discipline to persevere through the academic rigors of undergraduate or graduate studies. Our scholarship award recipients encompass all life stages– from high school to seasoned career employees, but they all have in common a passion for changing the world through furthering their education. We are pleased to invest in their future growth and development,” said Mark L. Robnett, President and CEO.

Justice Federal has awarded scholarships to student Members in pursuit of higher education since the program’s inception in 2008. Student Members must be in good standing with the Credit Union in order to compete. Scholarship award recipients are selected based on— academic performance, community involvement, personal goals, and financial need. Fifty percent of all awards are dedicated to student Members pursuing a degree in the field of Justice. While we regrettably cannot award a scholarship to each applicant, we sincerely thank all our Student Members who applied.

In addition to the Scholarship Competition, Justice Federal offers a comprehensive suite of Student Services. Realizing that many students have a need to establish credit history, the Credit Union offers auto loans for first-time auto buyers as well as a Student Rewards VISA Credit Card. The Credit Union’s Student Rewards VISA Debit Card offers easy access to funds via digital banking and mobile wallet solutions. Students can securely access their accounts with Touch ID, Face ID, or PIN sign-in. They may also visit over 150,000 surcharge-free ATMs, over 5,600 shared-branches, and 20 Justice Federal branch locations nationwide.

Chantilly, VA - July 20, 2020

– Justice Federal Credit Union (Justice Federal) announced that it stands ready to offer special assistance in the form of an unsecured, low interest rate loan and deferred payments to Members within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in the event of a furlough.

“As the financial partner to the justice community since 1935, supporting our Members in time of need is vital part of our mission,” said Mark L. Robnett, President & CEO.

USCIS furloughed Members may request a special assistance Furlough Loan equal to one month’s net pay, with with an annual rate of 3.99% for 24-months. Members may opt to defer their first loan payment for up to 90 days.

New Members are welcome to join Justice Federal, and may visit www.jfcu.org/join.

The Furlough Loan will be funded to Members who have been approved once their payroll by the Federal Government has ceased. Proof of furlough is required and loans are subject to credit approval. Members may apply for the special assistance Furlough Loan online by visiting www.jfcu.org.

“To further assist, Members in good standing with a Justice Federal consumer loan, or credit card may defer loan payments and request assistance with a Justice Federal First Mortgage Loan,” said Dianna Wilson, Sr. Vice President of Lending.

– Justice Federal Credit Union is making it even easier for its Members to bank anytime, anywhere with a cloud-native digital banking platform from the San Ramon, California based Lumin Digital, a PSCU company. Using extensive research and data around how Members bank online, combined with Member feedback on desired features and improvements, Justice Federal has teamed with Lumin Digital to introduce an entirely new platform that puts Member service at the forefront and will allow the Credit Union to continue to introduce new functionality.

“At Justice Federal we are always working to improve the services we provide to our Members, such as digital banking. Lumin Digital is redefining digital banking through its proprietary member engagement platform to create a truly personalized journey and connected relationship. Lumin digital banking will help our Members manage their accounts easily and with even greater conveniences,” said Mark L. Robnett, President & CEO.

The Lumin digital banking platform offers a sleek and intuitive dashboard where Members can experience personalized interactions. Members will be able to instantly lock or unlock their VISA Debit and Credit Cards if misplaced, and place travel notifications. Active defenses and strong encryption will keep Members and data safe.

With an ever-expanding number of Justice Federal Members using mobile devices, delivering a best in class system was one of the Credit Unions’ top priorities. Providing the same look and feel whether accessing the system via a mobile device, tablet or home PC, will continue to be a seamless experience for the Member.

Justice Federal views the online banking upgrade as an opportunity to continue to advance its technology stack, which improves the Credit Union’s ability to provide Members future enhancements. Whether it is a feature request from Members or a new advancement in the marketplace, the new digital banking platform will allow Justice Federal to introduce new functionality to users more frequently.

The new digital banking release is anticipated in late Fall 2020.
