We recognize that a shutdown of the federal government can create unexpected financial stress for employees directly impacted. We are committed to standing by our Members—ensuring you have access to resources and financial assistance necessary to navigate financial hardship.

Membership Eligibility

Justice Federal Credit Union Membership is available to employees and retirees from the justice, law enforcement, and public safety community, their immediate families and those who support law enforcement. Membership also extends to employees, members, and families linked to over a hundred of our partner organizations, including the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE), and Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). Special Assistance for Members

In the event of a partial government shutdown, the following services will be made available to new and existing Members who are directly impacted:

  • Special Assistance Furlough Loan*
    Members may request a Special Assistance Furlough Loan up to their net pay for one month at 5.99% APR** for up to 12 months with the option to defer payment for up to 60 days.***

  • Deferred Loan Payments*
    Members may qualify to defer Consumer Loan and VISA Credit Card payments for up to 30 days. Based on the length of the Federal Government shutdown, Members may request an additional 30-day deferment.***

  • Mortgage Assistance*
    Mortgage forbearance may be available. Please inquire with a Justice Federal Mortgage Counselor.

  • Confidential Financial Counseling
    Access to free, confidential financial counseling is available to help you manage your finances.
